Escapia Signs Amazon.com Veteran to Senior Engineering Post
SEATTLE – September 7, 2005 – Escapia, Inc., developers of the most advanced, best selling web-based on-demand software in the fast growing vacation rental market, today announced that Matt Scaer, a six-year Amazon.com software development engineering veteran, has joined Escapia and will be in charge of Escapia's systems engineering, analytics, business intelligence, and data warehousing initiatives.
While at Amazon.com in Seattle, Mr. Scaer was instrumental in developing the software that managed all of the company's data, productizing the technical component of the company's data, and other mission critical responsibilities in the U.S. and at Amazon's U.K. facility.

Prior to Amazon.com, Mr. Scaer was a research scientist at Honeywell Technology Center. He holds a Master of Science degree from Michigan Technological University, a Master of Science in Research from Saint Louis University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Hope College.
